Evaluation Q4

I found some excellent examples of Question 4 responses from another college. 
They've used technology in a really creative way to answer the question: 

How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages? 

They have not simply just listed the different technologies they've used - they have really carefully considered how the various technologies connect / join together.

What to do next.....

Now that you have completed the print work you need to:

1. Gain some audience feedback on your Final Promotional Package (music video, print advert, digipak). Use the evaluation guidance on question 3 to help with your own questions. If you're not sure what to ask then please do email me. Use a technology to gain feedback e.g. video or create a facebook group. Remember to ask people who reflect your target audience. If you're making a video then 3-4 people would be ideal.

2. Create a new blog posted titled, 'Final Promotional Package' and post all three products: music video, digpak and print advert.

3.Check that your blog is up to date. There is a handout on Moodle called: 'work flow'. Use this as a checklist to ensure you have completed all the required posts.

4. Complete the evaluation! I've put the evaluation guidance handout on Moodle:
Please email me a first draft of each question - use Word to do this.

Audience Feedback

One of the evaluation questions is:

What have you learned from your audience feedback? 

To complete this question you need to ensure you have a range of audience feedback. 

The minimum that you should have: 
  • Pitch Feedback
  • Rough cut of music video feedback
  • Draft print work feedback
  • Final Promo Package Feedback (on all three products).

How to produce good print work....

Lesson Today:

Starter Task - what is the function  / purpose of a:
  • digipak
  • print advert
Use key media terminology in your discussion points.


1. Identify what has made the student work good:

2. Develop your own success criteria e.g. in order to produce good print work I must...  

3. Use the success criteria to write a list of targets for yourself - what do you need to do to complete both print tasks (remember to always refer back you your research and use it to inform your production work)

4. Post a draft of your print work on your blog and use the comment function on blogger to gain some audience feedback - we will do this at the start of the lesson after break.
Here are some questions which you could ask but please feel free to think of your own questions too.

Step 1
Comment on any noticeable improvements that need to be made.

Step 2 
Identify at least 3 strengths in their work. Think in terms of the work following forms and conventions of digipaks and adverts.

Step 3
Comment, if applicable, on any ways you feel they have challenged conventions of digipaks and adverts.

Step 4
How successful do you feel they have been in producing an 'authentic' looking product.
