Print work

To do

At least 2 X analysis of digipaks & 2 X analysis of print adverts

Blog posts on the following:
  • Ideas development of visual style: how are you going to link  the three products together? How are you to promote the band / artist - create star image.
  • Experimentation with fonts & colours.
  • Potential photographs / images that you are going to use.
  • Mock-ups / draft designs. Focus on the finer details, especially for the digipak e.g  spine, copyright info. For the digipak what are you going to offer the audience in terms of content that makes it special / unique?

Blog Posts!

On Friday I should see the following posts on your blogs
  •  Action plan work flow.
  •  Complete conventions of music sub-genre task (we started this last Friday).
  •  Apply Goodwin's theory to a music video of the same music genre as yours.
  •  Optional extension task on redundancy and entropy.

Audience Profile

In addition to the audience profile that you have in your pitch I would like you to, indvidually, create a blog post on your target audience.

Use the profile on your pitch as a starting point and add more depth to. Try to make the post really visual.
Go to http://www.uktribes.com http://www.findyourtribe.co.uk http://tribes.channel4.com/
Use them to define your perfect audience member.

Create a complete picture of your audience member, from clothes to the food they eat, music they listen too.

Here are some good examples of audience profiles:

Have a look at the links on the right hand side:

  • Pete’s Media Blog: Pete is the chief examiner for OCR, our exam board. His blog is an invaluable resource for all A2 Media students.

Please do remember that your blog is available for anyone to see and ultimately will be read and marked by the exam board. With this in mind, you should approach each post as a mini formal essay: use standard English, proof read your work and check SPAG (spelling, punctuation and grammar.
